Self Drive Tour
Day 1
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will collect your
rental car and drive towards Sandton, where you will spend the night on a
Bed&breakfast basis.
Day 2
After breakfast you will depart for Dullstroom. Dullstroom is a quaint
little trout village in Mpumalanga where you will overnight. Overnight in
Dullstroom on basis of bed & breakfast (Traveling distance: ± 230 km)
Day 3
Depart after breakfast and enjoy a drive along the Panorama Route, which
passes the north-eastern part of the Great Escarpment and opens up fantastic
views of the plains of the Lowveld a thousand metres below. Take the time to
admire God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the
Three Rondavels. Spend the night in Sabie on basis of Bed & Breakfast (Traveling
distance ± 250 km)
Day 4
After a leisurely breakfast, it is time to pack you bags and drive to the
Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, adjoining the world famous Kruger Park. You
will enjoy luxury en-suite air conditioned accommodation, fully inclusive of
all meals & teas/coffees and two game drives a day. (Traveling distance ± 25
km)
Day 5
Spend another full day in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and enjoy the
many aspects of the African Bush! Overnight in Sabi Sands Private Game
Reserve on a fully inclusive basis.
 Day 6
Check out after breakfast. You have the option to enter Kruger Park in your
own vehicle for one last game drive towards Malelane gate where you will
exit the Kruger National Park. En-route you pass through the town of
Malelane before entering the Royal Kingdom of Swaziland at the Jeppe’s Reef
border post. Spend the night in Mhlambanyatsi ("Watering Place of the
Buffaloes") near Mbabane, the capital city of Swaziland. (Traveling

 Day 7 & 8
Early in the morning it’s time to pack up because you have a long but
beautiful drive ahead of you. Admire the beauty of Swaziland before leaving
the "mountain kingdom" to move back to South Africa.You will travel via
Jozini and Mkuze to Hluhluwe, set in the heart of Zululand and renown for
it’s variety of animal and birdlife. Enjoy a game drive where you have the
chance to encounter all members of the African Big 5, go on a boattrip, or
simply enjoy a walk on one of the self-guided foottrails. You will spend 2
nights in one of the accommodations of Hluhluwe- Umfolozi Park. (Traveling

Day 9 & 10
Depart after breakfast for a leisurely drive to the stunning Dolphin Coast
of Kwazulu Natal, where magical encounters with our planet's most endearing
sea-creatures, a walk in the footsteps of Africa's mightiest historic king,
are realistic possibilities. The next destination is Salt Rock. Salt Rock is
a gem of a holiday resort which creates a relaxed holiday atmosphere even
for the locals. Spend 2 nights in Salt Rock on basis of bed & breakfast. (Traveling

 Day 11
After breakfast it’s time to take off to Durban Airport, where you will hand
in your rental car and take a flight to Port Elizabeth on the Eastern Cape,
from where your journey will continue. After you pick up your rental car,
you will head for Jeffrey’s Bay- home of the perfect wave! With its unique
combination of beautiful beaches, endless summers, abundant shells, white
gold (calamari) and relaxed lifestyle, its no wonder this town has become
world renown. Spend the night in Jeffrey’s Bay on basis of Bed& Breakfast (

Day 12
Spend another day in Jeffrey’s Bay. Enjoy catching a tan on the beach or
visit one of the surf brand factories, where you can stock up on some ‘cool’
beach gear! Overnight in Jeffrey’s Bay.
Day 13
Today it’s time to move on, this time towards Knysna. Knysna is one of the
Southern Cape coast's best known holiday destinations, situated between lush
forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon. Spend the night in Knysna on
basis of bed & breakfast.
Day 14
Spend another full day in Knysna. Pay a visit to the magnificent Knysna
forest or enjoy a sunset cruise on the Knysna lagoon. Overnight in Knysna on
basis of bed& breakfast.
Day 15
Check out after breakfast for a relaxed drive via Sedgefield to Wilderness.
Wilderness is set between the Kaaimans River and the Goukama Nature Reserve,
whilst being bordered by the Outeniqua Mountains. Renowned for it tranquil
sea and beaches which stretch on forever, it is a beautiful place t to spend
some time! Wilderness is also surrounded by many rivers and natural lakes
and lagoons. Spend the night in Wilderness on basis of Bed & breakfast.
Day 16
Take a day trip via George and up the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn in the
Swartberg Mountains. Here is the opportunity to visit an Ostrich farm and a
visit to the world renowned Cango Caves is definitely worthwhile. Overnight
in Wilderness on basis of Bed&Breakfast. (Traveling distance: ± 000 ??km)
 Day 17
Leave after breakfast for Hermanus via the towns of Calitzdorp, Ladismith,
Barrydale and Swellendam. Apart from a long streth of beach, the coastline
between Hermanus and Gansbaai is world renowned for Southern Right Whale
sightings. Depending on the time of year, chances are good that you will
experience some sightings. Overnight in Hermanus on basis of Bed&Breakfast
(Traveling distance: ± 000 km)
 Day 18, 19, 20
Depart after breakfast for a relaxed drive to Cape Town via the coastal
towns of Kleinmond, Betty's Bay, Gordon's Bay and Strand. This is a relative
short distance and there will be ample opportunity to stop and enjoy the
coastal scenery and beach resorts. You can spend the next couple of days to
experience the tourist attractions in and around Cape Town and the Winelands
area. Accommodation will be in Cape Town on basis of Bed & Breakfast
(Traveling distance: ± 260 km)
 Day 21
Spend the morning at leisure to do some last minute shopping at the Victoria
& Alfred Waterfront before it’s time to go to the airport. Hand in your
rental car and check-in on time for your return flight back to your home
country! This is the end of an unforgettable journey!
