Day 1 & 2 – Durban - Umhlanga
Upon arrival at Durban International Airport you will collect your rental car
and drive in northern directions towards Salt Rock, a beautiful coastal town
which is situated about 30 minutes from Durban. You will spend the first 2
nights in Salt Rock, on basis of Bed&Breakfast. The breathtaking beaches of
the North Coast and Kwazulu Natal are within 15 minutes’ distance. There is
the possibility to play golf on some of South Africa’s most awesome golf
courses. Or how about visiting the Natal Sharks Board or “Ushaka Marine
World”? Of course you can always choose the option to lay back and relax on
the beach and catch a tan!
 Day 3 & 4 – Hluhluwe-Umfolozi
On the way to your next destination, you will pass the St. Lucia Wetlands.
This area consists of a 38 000 ha area full of natural lakes, islands and an
estuary where you can find beautiful dunes, beaches, and coral reefs. You
will spend the next 2 nights in one of the camps in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi
Game Reserve, which will welcome you into the magical world of the African
“Big Five” and many other wild animals. Go on a game drive in an open
Landrover, a game walk, visit the St. Lucia Wetlands or simply relax and
enjoy being in the bush!
Day 5 – Mkuze Falls Wildreservaat
A short drive will take you to another amazing place in Kwazulu Natal,
namely Maputaland. Mkuze Falls Game Reserve is worldly renown because of it’s
great variety of magnificent birds. Over 420 species have been recorded.
This area is also home of elephant, giraffe, rhino, hippo and crocodile.
Spend the night in one of the camps in the reserve. Taking part in a game
walk or game drive belongs to the possibilities.
Day 6 & 7 – Ithala Wildreservaat
This morning you will drive further inland, towards Ithala Game Reserve. The
area is famous for its scenic beauty and the reserve houses 4 of the Big Five.
Enjoy another game drive, or choose to go for a walk or a drive on your own,
there are multiples hiking- and car trails one can choose from! Spend the
night in one of the camps in Ithala Game Reserve.
Day 8 & 9 – Dundee
After a week of nature and wild animals, it’s time for something different.
Your next destination is Dundee, a town situated in a valley of the
Biggarsberg Mountains. This is the area where fearless, spear-wielding foot
soldiers of the all-conquering Zulu kings first encountered the rampant
British Empire's sophisticated fire- power... and where each faced the
unfamiliar guerilla-warfare tactics of the Boer - descendants of the west
European settlers who five generations earlier had claimed divine right to
this 'Promised Land'. Go back in time, armed with informative maps and
brochures obtainable from Tourism Associations in the region, you are free
to embark on a personal exploration!

Day 10 & 11 – Cathedral Peak, Winterton
After breakfast it’s time once again to pack your bags and continue your
journey towards the absolutely stunning Drakensberg. You will have an
unforgettable time being amidst a very impressive mountain range! Follow one
of the many hiking trails, or you could choose to take part in one of the
many activities the accommodation offers; tennis, bowls, volleyball,
cycling, fishing or swimming. Accommodation is on basis of dinner, bed &
breakfast.
 Day 12 – Natal Midlands
In the heart of the magnificent Natal Midlands you will find your
accommodation for the last night of your holiday. For the golf fan there is
ample opportunity to play. Visit a nearby waterfall, absorb the beautiful
views and spend one more day taking in the African fresh air! Accommodation
is on basis of bed & breakfast.
Day 13 – Durban Airport
Today is unfortunately the last day of your holiday. You will drive back to
Durban Airport, where you will hand in your rental car an check in on time
for your connecting flight to your next destination or back home.
