South Coast Golf and Surf
Special
"Pure Playing Pleasure"
9 nights / 10 days Day 1
Upon arrival at Durban Airport you will be met by one of our
representatives, who will be your host for
the duration of your golf tour.
The afternoon can be spent relaxing n the beach or you can choose to go to a
nearby driving range to groove your swing for the next few days of golf.
Evening at leisure. Overnight at a 4 star B&B in Durban.
Day 2
In the morning, you will take a 10 minute drive to the spectacular
Durban Country Club, where you will play your first game of golf of the holiday. The afternoon and evening are at leisure. Overnight at a 4
star B&B. Opened in 1922, the Durban Country Club is said to be the
best golf course in South Africa and is acknowledged to have the best third
hole in the world. With its dense bush, indigenous trees and undulating
fairways it is hard to believe that this spectacular championship course is
actually situated in the centre of Durban.
Extremely challenging to the most skilled golfer, the course will be
enjoyed, but rarely mastered.
Day 3
Today you will enjoy your golf at the magnificent Zimbali Golf Estate.
The afternoon can be spent relaxing at one of SA’s top beaches. Overnight at
a 4 star B&B. A superb Tom Weiskopf designed golf course set on the
lush KwaZulu Natal North Coast, with two distinct features. Some holes are
built among what were cane fields and almost devoid of trees, while
others
are cut through the estate's indigenous forest and wetlands. The course is
open to visitors.
Day 4
After finishing you game of golf at Mount Edgecombe, it’s time to pack
up and travel to Selbourne. Overnight at Pumula Beach Hotel.
With its large variety of trees and subtropical vegetation, the unique Mount
Edgecombe golf course has more of a "park-like" aspect than most coastal
courses. Water hazards come into play on numerous occasions and the ball
will have to be struck long and straight to overcome them. With its
large, slick greens, it is essential to position shots carefully on a course
that will test patience and skill to the limit.
Day 5
In the morning, you will take a drive to the beautiful Southbroom golf
course, where a T-off has been arranged. The afternoon and evening can be
spent as you like. Overnight at Pumula Beach Hotel. Southbroom is
often described
as one of the finest golf courses to be found anywhere, Southbroom Golf Course has a tight layout through lush coastal bush, with
spectacular sea views. Water comes into play at many of the holes and
with newly constructed greens, the course has an increased difficulty
factor. Playing this course is a truly African experience, as there are
always monkeys and indigenous birds to be seen.
Day 6
Early morning you will play golf on the challenging Selbourne Golf
Course. The afternoon can be spent relaxing at the beach catching a tan.
Overnight at Pumula Beach Hotel. Old Main Road, Pennington. Formerly a
dairy farm, Selbourne Park has been transformed into one of the most
outstanding golf courses in South Africa. The course is built on a
magnificent site and is referred to as the "Augusta" of courses. Huge
indigenous trees flank the fairways and there is water in play on the
majority of its holes. The course is both fun for the recreational
player and a challenge for a low handicapper. A player will require a deft
touch and a good mental approach to the game before attempting this
exhilarating course.
Day 7
Today it’s tome to pack your bags and head off to the Wild Coast Sun.
The afternoon will be spent playing golf at the Wild Coast Country Club. The
evening is at leisure. Overnight at the Wild Coast Sun. Situated on
one of the most beautiful and rugged coastlines in the world, the wild coast
provides for an exciting visual experience. The 5087 meters par 70 course
was
designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior. Some of the outstanding features
of the Wild Coast course is the 59 bunkers guarding manicured greens,
interesting layouts and scenery bordering on the fantastic. Most of the
holes require one hit over ravines, dams and even a waterfall as the course
winds through valleys and largely unspoiled subtropical bush over the tops
of dunes. A relatively easy course can change into a terrifying experience
once the coastal wind starts picking up. When your ball lands in the water
on the 18th hole, you will hear the ringing from the brass bell on the
balcony of the clubhouse. The combination of exciting golf and breathtaking
scenery makes a round of golf at
the Wild Coast a truly memorable experience.
Day 8
Today is a golf resting day and can be spent relaxing at the pool or
spending time on the beautiful beach. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the
Wild Coast Sun.
Day 9
Today it is time for your last round of golf for the holiday, which will
be played at San- Lameer golf estate. Afternoon / evening at leisure.
Overnight at the Wild Coast Sun. Opened in 1922 the course is situated
on the largely unspoiled South
Coast of Kwazulu-Natal. Fashioned out of the
dense coastal bush and set in a nature conservation area with its rich bird
life; San Lameer is a nature lovers paradise. Designed by Peter Malkovich
and Dale Hayes, the course features lots of water and magnificent views. The
greens are covered in fast and smooth 'country club' green grass. The
199-meter par 3 ninth hole has an elevated tee that plays to a green that is
almost completely surrounded by water. The ninth is also the beginning of an
almost continuous stretch of holes through to the 18th hole where water
comes into play.
Day 10
Morning can be spent relaxing on the beach and catching the last African
sun rays or some last minute shopping before your evening flight back home.
